We still can’t quite believe we’re writing this.
On Saturday night, Cherrywood Productions achieved something that feels truly extraordinary:all three of our entries to the 2025 Texas Short Film Awards won their categories.
A dark comedy.A sitcom pilot.A music video.
Three completely different styles — and every one of them recognised on an international stage. For a small, independent UK production team from Kent, it was nothing short of surreal.
The Winners
🟣 The Tab Theory — Dark Comedy
A twisted little gem of a comedy that started as a random idea and evolved into one of the most outrageous pieces we’ve ever made. It’s fast, sharp, chaotic and delightfully strange — and the judges loved it.

🔴 Dusty — Sitcom Pilot
“Dusty” introduces a warm, funny, wonderfully chaotic character in a very British sitcom world that somehow also connected deeply with a Texas audience. To win with a sitcom pilot — especially overseas — means more than we can say.

⚫ Black & White — LKG Trio (Music Video)
Shot in our signature moody monochrome style, Black & White is a cinematic performance piece created with the fantastic LKG Trio. This win is especially meaningful because music video work is such a core part of what we love to do.

Why These Wins Matter
Cherrywood has always been about authenticity and storytelling — whether we’re making people laugh, pulling at emotions, or amplifying a band’s sound with cinematic visuals.
To have three different types of work all win on the same night shows exactly what Cherrywood stands for:
versatility
originality
heart
and full-throttle creativity
These awards aren’t just trophies — they’re recognition of the passion we pour into every frame.
Huge Thank You
To everyone involved:our cast, musicians, collaborators, supporters — you made these projects possible.
To the Texas Short Film Festival: thank you for embracing our work.
And to Rachel — the backbone of Cherrywood — your skill, your graft and your eye are stitched into every second of these films.
Writers & Bands — Want to Work With Us?
Winning these awards has only strengthened our mission:we want to help more people bring their ideas to life.
If you’re a writer with a short film, sitcom, drama, or even just a spark of an idea…If you’re a band or solo artist wanting a cinematic, story-driven, high-quality music video…
We’d love to talk.
Cherrywood is built on collaboration, and we’re always excited to champion new voices and new talent.
Drop us a message. Tell us your idea.Let’s make something unforgettable together.
What’s Next for Cherrywood?
More films.More episodes.More music videos.More big ideas.More collaborations — in the UK, Texas, and beyond.
This is just the beginning. And after a night like this… the future has never felt brighter.
